Richard Carver

  • Moldova 2010 Devising a media monitoring methodology for the broadcasting regulator, Council of Europe.
  • Croatia 2009-10 Rationalization of the Croatian human rights protection system, UNDP.
  • 2009 Litigation strategy on counter-terrorism, human rights and the rule of law, Open Society Justice Initiative.
  • 2008 Strategic and communications planning, training curriculum, UNDP.
  • 2007-9 Eminent Jurists' Panel on Terrorism, Counter-terrorism and Human Rights, International Commission of Jurists.

Dr Brigitte Piquard

  • 2010 + Scientific Advisor for 'Communications sans Frontières', Project of 'itinerant universities' in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • 2009 + CARA (Council for assisting refugee academics), monitor and evaluator of the Iraq Research Fellowship Programme.
  • 2009 + Al Quds Open (Ramallah-OPT): capacity Enhancement for academics project under development.
  • 2005-6 UNRWA: gender expert evaluation of the quality and the satisfaction of beneficiaries of the programmes delivered by the UNRWA in their 5 field of operation (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, West Bank and the Gaza Strip).
  • 2004 GRIP (Group for Research and Information on Peace and Security): advisor for Cooperation strategies on security of humanitarian missions.
  • 2002-7. Elected member of the Commission 'Women and Development', Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Belgium). Chair of the Task force on 'Gender, Conflict and peace building', 2004-2006.
  • 2002-2003 Amnesty International Belgium, advisor for the awareness campaigns on the social dynamics linked to islamophobia and terrorism.

Prof David Sanderson

  • Haiti 2010 Team leader of a review of the effectiveness of Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) member agencies’ urban response to the Haiti earthquake, for the DEC, December.
  • India 2010 Review of shelter ten years after the 2001 Gujarat earthquake for CARE UK, August.
  • Bangladesh 2009 Team leader of two thematic studies for CARE Bangladesh’s US$130 million USAID funded SHOUHARDO programme concerning governance and disaster preparedness, July.
  • Pakistan 2009 Team leader of an impact assessment of the US$17 million Pakistan earthquake recovery programme by Church World Service for Action by Churches Together, May.
  • Improving learning and practice in the NGO shelter sector (2009-10), project manager of one year ESRC funded research project for ELRHA Bangladesh 2008. Leader of the development of an urban strategy for CARE Bangladesh, August.
  • Pakistan and India 2007. Team leader, evaluation of Christian Aid and its partners' £5 million response to the 2005 Asia earthquake with field work in India and Pakistan, Sept-December.
  • India 2007 Evaluator of a DiPECHO funded Christian Aid earthquake schools safety initiative, SESIS, Himachal Pradesh, August.
